New Music: Legacy

Legacy

powered by ODEO

I've been writing and dealing with some pretty heavy stuff as of late, so to counter that, I wanted to write a piece for all the lovely poets and thinkers of Zaadz.  I read so much of your words and I am always so impressed by all of your inspirational and moving thoughts!

The piece is called Legacy and is influenced by all of your writing that I read every day, but this poem by Peggy was the catalyst. The sound is a combination of what I think we do a lot of here, combining the East with the West. So you'll hear hip hop drums, strings, an english horn, trombones (yes, trombones), along with tabla and Indian singing.

I hope you enjoy, and thanks for inspiring me Zaadsters! I will be back to a little darker stuff next week when I release part 2 from the Witness Music Project.

Nice! I love that type of music (Indian, ethnic, gypsy type?) I heard something (kind of) similar at www.solovox.com If you browse through the flash player, there is a song called “Baja -Rain” which I love! It is somewhat more uptempo though, so be warned, hehe ;)

Yes I agree. When I first came to zaadz back at the boards in '04, I noticed and appreciated that east and west were included equally.Brian has that gift of seeing all great wisdom and teachings relevance and how really it is all pointing to the same source.Going beyond the words and really seeing by sensing how things are connected.I am the same, and I believe all zaadsters have this in common, a deeper sense of life.Brian has great vision. If it wasn't for these things, zaadz would have just been another achademic philosophy site with no purpose, and I never would have stuck around.I'm grateful it is the way it is and I'm grateful to myself for attracting it.

So, thanks!

Somehow I missed this the last time I visited.  So glad I found my way back.

I have to say, your music really, really does move me.  I don't say so just as a feel good statement or to spread my own icon around.  This, to me, is beautifull stuff.  The way you mix sounds that I would never guess could come together, and you make them come together as if they were designed from one in the same instrument.  It's just amazing to me and a wonderful experience.  Can't wait for your second installment for the Witness project.

Also, I hope your dad's doing okay - no junior mints lost, etc.  Peace, love, and light to you both.

Thanks so much for listening Peggy, flex, and Zoe! I’m in no way worthy of such lovely feedback, but I’m glad I could be a part of just a slice of a moment of your happiness :) Dad is scheduled for his prostate surgery on July 31st. He’s doing well and everything should be fine. I’ll be sure to keep my lovely Zaadz friends posted. I know he appreciates the nice thoughts!

This piece of music is incredible as well!  Wow!  I love the different textures.  And the poem is definitely inspiring and I could hear it in the music for sure!

this is beautiful….I hink of music as food at some level and this is such a great meal! People rhapsodize over food, and me? I could care less if I eat a pbj or a gourmet dinner. ahh, but the music, that is where shades and flavors and spices and presentation matter to me.

thanks for sharing.
